ICSCRM 2019

September 29 - October 4, 2019
Kyoto, Japan
Kyoto International Conference Center
GTI at ICSCRM

Takatori and GTI are excited to attend the International Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials 2019 in Kyoto, Japan. Takatori will have a booth at the show, displaying information on their latest innovations in multi wire slicing of hard materials, as well as other solutions for SiC production.

Takatori multi-wire saws have been the SiC industry standard slicing solution for almost two decades. Through continued innovation their wire saws have gained capability, and today we offer solutions for all levels of production. We are well prepared to support the ongoing expansion of the SiC industry, are excited to continue innovating and improving to help drive SiC production levels higher and drive costs down.

We look forward to seeing you in Kyoto, come stop stop by our booth to learn more about slicing SiC!

About ICSCRM

The ICSCRM is the premier forum for technical discussion in all areas of silicon carbide (SiC) and other wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductors. The topics covered in the ICSCRM include bulk and epitaxial growth, fundamental physical properties, defect characterization and engineering, quantum technology, surfaces and interfaces, device fabrication processes, devices (high-power, high-temperature, RF power, radiation-resistant devices, etc.), packaging, modular and circuit technologies, and system applications for SiC and related materials including other WBG semiconductors such as III-nitrides, oxides, and diamond.   The ICSCRM brings together world-leading scientists, distinguished experts, experienced engineers, and young students working in various areas of WBG semiconductors from all over the world. The objective of the ICSCRM is to report and discuss both scientific and technological advances in the fields described above. One of the most important topics addressed is the substantial improvement of electric energy efficiency by using WBG semiconductor power devices for preserving the natural environment and preventing global warming. The ICSCRM also offers the opportunity of a Technical Exhibition for companies and agencies that provide materials, devices, equipment, other technologies and information relevant to the research and development efforts in the present areas.

History of ICSCRM

A series of ICSCRM started in Washington D.C. in 1987. After five conferences in the USA, the ICSCRM has been held every 2 years in the USA, Europe, and Japan under the International Steering Committee. The latest three Conferences have been held in Miyazaki, Japan (2013), Giardini Naxos, Italy (2015), and Washington D.C., USA (2017). ICSCRM 2019 is the 18th conference of the ICSCRM series. In 1995, the first ICSCRM outside the USA was held in Kyoto as “ICSCRM 95.” After 24 years, the ICSCRM returns to Kyoto with a significantly advanced stage of SiC and other WBG technologies.   Kyoto is the quintessential Japanese destination, being an ancient capital of Japan and having been ranked as one of the top 3 travel destinations by “Travel + Leisure,” one of the most influential international travel magazines. Kyoto embodies 1,200 years of Japanese history, tradition, and rich culture, including 17 world heritage sites. A variety of traditional arts and crafts, and museums can be found in Kyoto, and this town is known as the “Center of Japanese cuisine.” The historical treasures and traditional cultures of Kyoto will give this conference a unique atmosphere.
